ASHLLYD On Facebook?!

29/09/2011

There's a lot of people on my personal blog who I wouldn't like the thought of having access to my blog. At the end of the day, I do categorize my blog under 'style, lifestyle & photography'. I don't trust Facebook's privacy issues either. What I am trying to say it.. there's a few people out there who I don't want having access to my blog, therefore I can't always link my new blog posts up to my personal blog (this probably makes no sense!).

Anywho.. come 'like' my Facebook page. It'll make my day and I can interact with everyone more!

Cold, but nice

28/09/2011

My alarm went off at 7am this morning and I rolled over feeling like p00p. The beginning of an Autumn cold is nestling within my brain and I decided to stay rolled up nice and warm. Result? I didn't go into college. To be honest, I haven't missed out on anything anyway. I am going to begin shooting as of next week (a post is upcoming about my current project ideas), but at the moment all we're doing is brain storming and researching.

This has been my day!

Lanzarote, April 2011 (Belated post) some photography too!

27/09/2011

After a 'successful' last post about a college project on my Grandparent's, many of you wanted to see more of my photography, so I'm going to keep updating you guys!

This wasn't a project. I went to Lanzarote for a week in April of this year with my Mum, Sister, Aunt, two cousin & my Nan. My Nan's in her mid-60's so we jetted away for her very last holiday. I only shot digitally as I had no dollar to buy film (boo!). Some are personal photos, some are merely "photography shots". I didn't have this blog back then so count this as... as very late post! Enjoy :)

REVIEW: Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish - Hot Cloth Cleanser

Around a month ago, I was sent the infamous Hot Cloth Cleanser by the lovely Andrea from the PR side of Liz Earle. I was unsure whether to purchase it myself as I'm very dubious when it comes to buying new products for my skin. I'm a huge skin fanatic and cleanse, tone, exfoliate and moisturise everyday!

I was sent the Starter kit which is £13.75. It comes with a 100ml bottle of the magic potion and two muslin cloths. All the prices are the end of this post :-)

You can use this in two ways:

1) Morning Routine:
After waking up, I always exfoliate. Even though I cleanse my face and neck before bed every night without fail, I can't skip a session in the bathroom in the mornings! I use one pump and concentrate on my t-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and then spread it out to the rest of my face (keep your face dry).  Then 'polish' it off using a muslin cloth under a hot tap. Finally splash your face with cold water to rinse any residue off.

2) Evening Routine:
Coming home from work after a long day (12-10pm's are the worst!) sometimes the thought of my Liz Earle routine is eugh. However, the amount of time I spend getting my makeup off using baby wipes is twice the amount of time it takes me to stand in the bathroom and remove it using Liz Earle.
Still using your dry face, you literally apply two pumps this time (depending on how much makeup I'm wearing, I sometimes need 3 pumps, but I think it's all personal preference!) to the t-zone and concentrate on the eyes lastly. I apply coats and coats of mascara so at first I was a little disappointed at how long it took me to remove the "dried clumpy" lash feeling.. however once you rub it in more and more, you can feel it all melting off. After looking in the mirror at your gorgeous panda face; you use the same technique of 'polishing' the cleanser off. It takes a little more time than the morning routine but it's so worth it.

Did this product work for me?
I will admit I think it broke me out slightly at first. However, I have been using it since I got it now and I haven't broken out since. Therefore, I do believe it was doing it job at getting the crap out of my face.. hence the two spots I received. Lovely.

What's the smell like?
A lot of people complain about the smell but I personally love it! I would describe it as a herbal, minty smell. I use a lot of tea-tree products on my skin so using this was no biggy. I think the smell is really fresh and nice to breathe in!

What's your overall opinion? Would you purchase this item?
I absolutely love it. A lot of people have said this but it's honestly the truth. When I take my makeup off using a wipe (I still sometimes do to give my skin a break) it takes a good ten minutes to get everything off, plus I also have to use a tea-tree toner by Superdrug to get all the stubborn dirt & grime off my face. When I use Liz Earle's cleanser, it takes around 2 minutes in the mornings and 5 minutes at night time. I can't describe how my skin looks after.. but it looks SO clear. It's like magic. I definitely go to bed knowing and feeling like my skin is clean!
Yes i would purchase this myself. I don't think the price is too pricey. You get 100ml which is double the amount of most cleansers in drug stores priced between £4-10. It's worth splurging out on a few extra pounds and pennies on an item that you can feel and see working.

PRICES:
30ml - £5.25
50ml pump starter kit - £8.75
50ml pump - £8.00
100ml pump starter kit - £13.75 (muslin cloths inc.)
100ml pump - £12.75 (no muslin cloths)
x3 100ml pumps - £33.75
200ml pump starter kit - £24.50
200ml pump - £23.00

x3 200ml pumps - £66.00
